Aims of the project

 

 

Aims

 

To deliver a wide range of play activities to children who live in the South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North East Somerset. Playbus activities are designed to promote family learning and to encourage people from different communities to integrate.

 

Objectives

 

Bristol Playbus can offer:-

 

Meeting the "Every Child Matters" Outcomes

 

Enjoy and achieve

Playbus offers a range of play activities designed to meet the needs of the individuals that the team are working with. These range from learning about the environment- cooking to the arts
The children’ achievements and outcomes are recorded

 

Staying safe

Playbus ensures that the staff team are trained in issues relating to safeguarding etc

Playbus ensures that all of its staff have up to date CRB checks and references

Playbus ensures that all the staff are trained in the relevant child play and learning courses.

 

Be healthy

Many of the activities that the play rangers deliver include physical activities such as the football team the children are developing

 

The Playbus early years offer healthy snacks and have used a variety of techniques to raise parent’s awareness in health eating

 

We run healthy lifestyle sessions for the families in partnership with other agencies

 

Make a positive contribution

The children are involved in the planning of their sessions

Playbus is currently exploring ways of involving the community in the project.

 

Economic well being

Playbus services are free to children and families who live in isolated or disadvantaged communities

 

Playbus working with the Early Years Foundation Stage

 

A unique child

Playbus recognises that every child is unique our early years activities are delivered in bite size portions aimed to stimulate learning

 

Positive Relationships

Playbus staff are trained in Peers Early Education Partnership [PEEP]

The team encourage the children to learn how to interact and share toys etc

Parents are encouraged to stay on the bus and interact with their children

The team will be developing scrap books of the child’s journey on the bus for the parents to keep

 

Enabling environment

Playbus staff work in partnership with a rang of professionals such as health visitors, children’s centres and ACTES

 

Learning and development

The playbus team devises activities, which enables children to explore their world using a variety of mediums such as cooking, art, and problem solving.
